On December 18th, the inauguration of the Institute of Belt and Road Initiative and the Second “Belt and Road & Jiangxi Open Economic Development Forum was held in JUFE.
Chaired by Vice President Que Shandong, the event was attended by JUFE leaders and the staff of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province.
Xie Yiping and Lu Fucai Unveiled the Institute.
Xie Yiping, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, attached the greatest importance to the countries along the Belt and Road regarding foreign capitals and export. With the Belt and Road Initiative and the role of Jiangxi as an inland open economic pilot zone in mind, he made a four-point proposal to blaze an open development road of Jiangxi: seek synergy with the Belt and Road initiative and take a holistic approach to utilize domestic and foreign markets; build a dual circulation paradigm with domestic and international circulation reinforcing each other; underpin all-round development of Jiangxi with upgraded opening up endeavors; accelerate the development of new business forms and models to inject stronger impetus for development.
Prof. Deng Hui extended a warm welcome and hearty gratitude to the participants. He indicated that it is all the more important for JUFE to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative in the context of Jiangxi’s recognition as an inland economic pilot zone. Its joint efforts with the Department of Commerce in resource sharing, subject research and personnel training will promote the opening up and development of Jiangxi, and build a local think tank with wide influence and distinctive characteristics.
