​From October 21st to 23rd, JUFE Vice President，Prof. Liu Xiaoli attended the 22nd China Annual Conference for International Education & Expo (hereafter referred to as “Conference”) and delivered a keynote speech. During her stay in Beijing, Liu Xiaoli visited the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), accompanied by Xiao Long, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), and Ye Weihua, Dean of the Overseas Education College.

From October 21st to 23rd, the Conference organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) was held in Beijing. The theme for CACIE 2021 is New Opportunities and Prospects for Building an Open and High-Quality Education System, discussing new opportunities and challenges faced by international exchanges and cooperation in education, planning innovative paths for high-quality development, and inviting representatives of elites, governments, enterprises, and society to discuss the development of international education. The Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng, the President of the CEAIE, Liu Limin, the UNESCO Assistant Director-General, Stefania Giannini, and the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education of the UK, Susan Aklan Hood, Minister of Education of Singapore, Chen Zhensheng, and others made opening speeches.

More than 30 parallel forums were held. Prof. Liu Xiaoli shared JUFE experience with the topic of “Exploring the internationalization of new liberal arts construction”, focusing on the goals, key tasks and paths of the construction of new liberal arts in the new era. She pointed out that while strengthening the top-level design and determining the goals, the construction of new liberal arts in universities should also speed up the exploration of innovation and transformation, strive to build a new liberal arts talent training system that meets the development requirements of the new era, promote the integration of disciplines and professions, and cultivate the interdisciplinary talents of humanities needed by the society. Afterwards, Liu Xiaoli introduced the main achievements of JUFE in internationalization, the efforts made to accelerate the construction of new liberal arts and to strengthen the transformation of new liberal arts education on the road of internationalization.

During her stay in Beijing, the group led by Liu Xiaoli visited CSCSE of the Ministry of Education. Cheng Jiacai, Director of the CSCSE, and Li Xiaozhe, Deputy Director, met with Liu Xiaoli and her colleagues. Cheng Jiacai introduced CSCSE, and said that they would provide more support and services for the internationalization of JUFE. Liu Xiaoli stated JUFE’s endeavor on internationalization and expressed hopes to establish a strategic partnership with CSCSE and gain greater support in expanding international educational exchanges and promoting Sino-foreign collaboration in joint degree programs.
