  • “2021 Quality Case Research and Case Teaching” Seminar Conducted at JUFE

  • On April 2nd, the “2021 Quality Case Research and Case Teaching Seminar sponsored by ICRA and organized by the School of Business Administration was conducted online. Chaired by Professor Hu Haibo, dean of the School of Business Administration, the lecture was attended by more than 260 teachers and students.

    Professor Hu Haibo briefed the status of domestic case research and case teaching, saying that case research will thrive in the near future. Dr. Zhao Liman, a senior case researcher at China Europe International Business School, focused on how to develop high-quality case teaching notes. Associate Professor Zhu Jingqi from the University of Liverpool listed the challenges of publishing international case study papers. Dr. Bruce Thomson from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, enumerated in detail the ways to obtain secondary data. Wu Yi from the University of Alberta shared the experience of submitting papers to Ivey Publishing. Sun Jianhua, Canadian Certified Management Accountant and Chartered Certified Accountant, introduced case teaching in the field of accounting combined with the case of Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. Prof. Wei Xiaojun, vice dean of Business School of Grant MacEwan University, summarized the five reports delivered by the above speakers, gave a detailed introduction to the members and activities of ICRA, and expressed his expectation of ICRA and Chinese teachers jointly making China’s voice better heard. In addition, he shared his view about more than 180 cases published by Chinese authors in Ivey Publishing, and pointed out the core points in the process of writing Ivey Publishing cases and the future trends.

    This seminar provides an opportunity for Chinese scholars to make China’s voice louder, provides a valuable platform for learning and exchanges among case scholars, and helps case scholars reach a new level.
