  • On the afternoon of March 24th, Associate Professor Cao Shun of Georgia State University was invited by the School of Accounting to give a lecture titled How to Talk When a Machine is Listening? Corporate Disclosure in the Age of AI.

The lecture centered on the two topics of artificial intelligence and big data. Cao pointed out that machines will take over repetitious work in the near future, and certified personnel is faced with both opportunities and challenges in this age of intelligence.

Cao discussed two questions in the paper How to Talk When a Machine is Listening? Corporate Disclosure in the Age of AI: first, how could financial personnel make financial statements in the context of artificial intelligence and big data? second, how financial personnel proceed with financial statements? He concluded that only those soft information that cannot be captured by machines will not be replaced by machines. Therefore, as irreplaceable financial personnel, one should pay more attention to theoretical research and build theoretical basis of what you have learned.
