  • JUFE Attained Approval for Two Major National Social Science Projects in 2020

  • JUFE recently had two projects approved and funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China.

    In the digital era of 2015, professor Deng Hui became keenly aware of legal trends and diverted his focus to modern technology governance and digital law research. In July 2020, he encouraged JUFE’s Law School to introduce a research team specializing in digital law from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Professor Deng, together with his colleagues and team members from various research institutions nationwide, worked in solidarity and saw their efforts crystallize into an approved project.

    Professor Deng Hui based his project (Research on the Law-based Governance System and Legislative Reform of the Digital Society) on the theories of law, national governance, and digital technologies, and analyzed the construction of a coordinated law-based governance system and the model of a simulation system for a digital society. In this project, Professor Deng try to solve problems such as digital compliance, digital trust, digital gap and Legislative Reform with new investment solutions, new infrastructure and upgraded governance and distribution schemes as well as a simulation of digital governance. With strategic importance, technological innovation and multidisciplinary integration, the project is sure to exert a far-reaching and profound impact on legal research, digital governance, and legal reform.

    Another project was hosted by Professor Ping Weiying, who has been a backbone player in the evaluation of poverty reduction at state and provincial levels in recent years, thus having a real picture of poverty in China. Additionally, she has seen many of her essays indexed into core journals, contributing to national poverty reduction endeavors both theoretically and practically.

    Her project The Research on the Statistical Measurement and Governance Mechanism of China's Urban and Rural Relative Poverty in the Post Poverty Alleviation Era will analyze the long-term mechanism for relative poverty governance and will also try to provide guidance on how to recognize and alleviate relative poverty in urban and rural areas.
