  • With the intention of furthering the foreign faculty’s understanding of Jiangxi and China's time-honored history and culture and enhancing their connections with JUFE, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (OICE) organized a one-day visit for foreign teachers and co-teachers to the National Archaeological Site Park of Nanchang Han Dynasty Haihun Marquis on November 8th.

The park currently contains the largest and most well-preserved marquis burial complex of the Han Dynasty yet discovered in China. After visiting different exhibition areas, the participants immersed themselves in the charm of the songs and dances, chimes, drum music as well as relief stone sculptures of the Han Dynasty.

As an embodiment of spiritual and material civilization, the park demonstrates the martial spirit and the great strength of the Han Dynasty, allowing the foreign teachers to better understand China’s profound history and brilliant historical achievements. The precious cultural relics serve as a mirror to showcase the life style and customs of the people at that time. Through on-the-spot investigation, the foreign teachers could reflect on themselves and look into the future with a global vision.

This activity helped the foreign faculty to gain a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture, further consolidate friendships with the co-teachers and strengthen their sense of belonging in JUFE. It is hoped that they can share their cross-cultural experience in their English language teaching.
