  • The Third China Social Security Theory and Policy Forum was Held

  • From November 15th to 16th, the Third China Social Security Theory and Policy Forum (CSSTPF) hosted by the Economic Research Journal and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics(JUFE), and organized by the School of Public Finance & Public Administration and the Social Security Research Center of JUFE was successfully held in Nanchang. Professor Wang Qiao, Chairman of Board of JUFE, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum, which was presided over by Professor Jiang Jinfa, vice president.

      The theme of the forum was “70 years of China’s social security system and the building of a multi-tiered social security system”. Nearly 100 experts, scholars and doctoral students from more than 50 universities and research institutes, including Peking University (PKU), Tsinghua University (THU), Renmin University of China (RUC), Fudan University (FDU), Nanjing University (NJU), and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) attended the forum.

      In his speech, Professor Wang Qiao expressed congratulations on the opening of the forum, warmly welcomed the arrival of experts, introduced the Teaching & Research and discipline construction concerning social security of JUFE. He pointed out that a perfect social security system is an important support mechanism for the national governance system and features prominently in the modernization of national governance.

      Professor Zhang Yongshan, president of the Economic Research Journal, introduced the purpose and vision of CSSTPF. He hopes that the forum to be held regularly will serve as a platform for scholars engaged in SSTPR to exchange ideas and gain from mutual learning, so as to jointly promote the prosperity and progress of China’s SSTPR and the constant improvement of China’s social security system.

      The forum has set up 10 sub-forums, including “Health & Medical”, “Social Security and Economic Behavior”, “Retirement and Old-age Insurance”, “Poverty and Social Assistance”, “Social Insurance Premium and Collection”, “Social Security Economic Effect”, “Pension Service and Elderly Care”, and “Social Security System Innovation”. Professor Zheng Bingwen, Professor Lin Minggang and Professor Feng Jin, made thematic reports respectively. Professor Li Chungen presided over the reports. The authors of the 40 papers selected by the reviewer and other participants attended the heated and productive discussion.
